My obsession with architecture and interior design began back in middle school, so I knew from an early age that I’d be pursuing a career in design. I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and spent several years working in architecture firms. I ultimately left the professional world for awhile to raise my two children, but my passion for design and beautiful spaces never left me—in fact, I think it only grew stronger! I have recently returned to work in a residential architecture firm where my knowledge and experience continues to grow.
My own home has become a natural canvas for me to display my design ideas and techniques. This blog is a documentation of various projects I’ve done and all that I have learned from design school, the corporate environment, and my own hands-on experience. I hope it can be a source of information and inspiration for you!
My blog is a one-woman show! I do all of the designing, drawing, writing, photography, blog maintenance/design, social media accounts, and the majority of the DIY projects and room installations completely by myself… which is why I’m not as productive as I’d like to be because, well, that’s a lot to juggle!!
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” ~Proverbs 3:6
I named my blog ‘Studio 36’ after this Bible verse as a reminder for me to keep the correct focus on what is truly important in this life-—acknowledging, serving and glorifying God.
